Cruise jobs on river ships:
GMN Hungary is a hiring partner of Scylla-Tours, Euroshipping and River-Tours AG.
They have altogether 20 four-five star luxury ships sailing on the Danube, Rhein, Main, Mosel, from Amsterdam to the Danube delta. The passenger capacity of these ships varies from 110 to 150, the crew about 25-35.
Guests are from all over in Europe, sometimes from the USA.
Guests on board most of the time are german speakers, therefore we are seeking mainly german speaker crew.
Employees on board get free accomodation, and free board. Insurrance (medical) also provided for the crewmembers by the cruiselines.
Contracts are mostly seasonals (from mid-end of March till mid-end of November) on some ships till mid-January.
With Scylla-Tours You might choose from 4-5-6 month contracts. They all might be extended up to 6 months.
Interviews are held usually in January and February for the upcoming season, but we are always looking for candidates (all year long), as there is always a staffing need from the cruiselines.
Joining places might be anywhere on Europe’s main waterways.
Requirements of emloyment:
Waiter:
- Advanced level of german and/or english
- Minimum three years of professional experience in a hotel or restaurant
- Willing to work 10-12 hours/day, 7 day
Barkeeper:
- Advanced level of german and/or english
- Minimum 2-3 years of professional experience in a bar (general knowledge of the drinks, coctails)
- Willing to work 10-12 hours/day, 7 day
Cabinstewardess:
- Advanced level of german and/or english
- Professional experience is not a must, but adventage
- Willing to work 10-12 hours/day, 7 day
Cooks (Chef de Partie):
- Advanced level of german or english
- Minimum 3-4 years of professional experience
- Willing to work 10-12 hours/day, 7 day
Sous Chef:
- Advanced level of german and/or english
- Former ship experience in a similar role, or at least 4-5 years of fine dining or hotel experience, 2 years as a Sous chef
- Willing to work 10-12 hours/day, 7 day
Receptionist:
- Fluent in german and/or english (preferably both)
- Minimum two-three years os hotel experience
- Willing to work 10-12 hours/day, 7 day
Matrose:
- Advanced level of german and/or english
- Posesssion of a Regensburg (german) seamen book
